About This Guide

This section describes this guide and where to find further information.
Audience and Purpose
This guide comprises instructions for partners who board merchants on the Visa Acceptance platform. Each section contains instructions for boarding merchants.

Merchants

The Partner Experience enables you to add and manage Authorize.net merchant accounts, so that they can process credit cards online.
You can create merchants by clicking
Merchants
, then clicking
Add Merchant
.
Adding a merchant consists of four sets of tasks.:
  1. Business information
    — Add the details such as business name, website URL, address, merchant category code (MCC), and the contact information for the account's primary contact.
  2. Products and pricing
    — Enter the buy and sell rates for card processing.
  3. Product configuration
    — Set the processor, accepted card types, and currencies accepted. Set extended transaction settings such as Address Verification Service (AVS) and Card Verification Value (CVV) checks, and configure the processor. If desired, configure services such as the Token Management Service, Fraud Management Essentials, and Digital Payment Suite.
  4. Review and submit
    — Review and make changes to your settings before you create the merchant account.
After adding merchants, you can view a merchant you created and edit the business details, pricing, and configurations. You can also send an activation link to the primary contact so that they can activate the account.

Reports

Residual reports contain details about your monthly revenue share based on the difference between your buy rates and sell rates. Buy rates are the amounts you pay Authorize.net for products and services that your merchants use. Sell rates are the amounts that you charge merchants for the products and services they use.
If your buy rate is higher than your sell rate for a given product or service, you are charged for the use of that product or service. In the reports, that charge appears as a positive fee. If your buy rate is lower than the sell rate, you earn a residual amount for the use of that product or service, and in the reports, that amount appears as a negative fee. If your buy rate is equal to your sell rate, you earn no residuals for that product or service.
If a merchant fails to make payment by the 15th day of the month, no residual is paid.
Residual reports enable you to identify this information:
  • Which merchants generate ongoing revenue
  • Which fees contribute most to your income
  • Merchants who need attention due to forfeited residuals
  • Opportunities to adjust pricing
Residual reports include these fees:
  • Monthly fees: The fees charged each month for maintaining the merchants' accounts
  • CC per transaction fees: The fees charged for credit card transactions
  • Total residuals earned or charged for merchants' accounts
